What to look for in a free Pokémon team builder — and how this one does it

  • Weaknesses and coverage. Both sides of the type chart, using your actual moves
  • Meta threats. Top-usage Pokémon that hit your team hardest, from Smogon and Champions usage
  • Role check. Lists which member fills each role and which roles nobody covers
  • Fixes, not just a score. Smart picks ranked by how many of your gaps they close

How to build a balanced team in 60 seconds

  1. Pick your game above so only legal Pokémon, moves and the right type chart are used.
  2. Add your must-have Pokémon. Tap a slot, type a few letters (English, 中文, 日本語, Français, Deutsch, Español or 한국어 all work) and press Enter.
  3. Read the red rows in the Weaknesses tab — a type is a problem when three or more Pokémon are weak to it and nothing resists it.
  4. Use Smart picks. The suggestions under your team are ranked by how much they reduce shared weaknesses and fill coverage gaps, weighted by how often they are used in real battles.
  5. Check Coverage and Threats, add moves (or one-click Popular sets), then Share the link or export to Showdown.

FAQ

How do I analyze my Pokémon team?

Paste your team from Showdown (Import) or add six Pokémon with their moves and abilities. The analysis updates live: team weaknesses, move coverage, threats and roles appear under the team, with problems highlighted in red.

What does the team analyzer check?

Defensive weaknesses for all 18 types (abilities applied), offensive coverage from your moves, the meta Pokémon that threaten your team most, and team roles — speed control, priority, recovery, hazards and removal in singles, Fake Out, Protect and redirection in doubles.

Is this the same as the team weakness checker?

The weakness checker focuses on the defensive type chart. The analyzer reads the whole team: moves, coverage, speed control and roles as well as weaknesses, so it suits finished teams from Showdown.

Can I analyze a VGC or Pokémon Champions team?

Yes. Pick Champions in the Game menu to use doubles roles (Fake Out, Protect on most, redirection, speed control) and Champions usage for threats. For VGC in Scarlet & Violet pick Scarlet / Violet.

How does the team builder calculate weaknesses?

For each of the 18 attacking types it multiplies the type-chart values against every Pokémon's typing, then applies abilities that change incoming damage — Levitate, Flash Fire, Water Absorb, Volt Absorb, Storm Drain, Sap Sipper, Thick Fat, Heatproof, Purifying Salt, Filter and more. A type is flagged red when three or more of your Pokémon are weak to it and at most one resists it.

Can I import and export Pokémon Showdown teams?

Yes. Paste any Showdown or PokéPaste text into Import and the builder keeps nicknames, items, abilities, Tera Types, EVs, IVs, natures, levels and moves. Export gives you text you can paste straight back into Showdown's Teambuilder.

How do I share my team?

Press Share to copy a link — the whole team is encoded in the URL, so anyone who opens it sees the same six Pokémon, sets and analysis. Image creates a 1200×675 team card that is ready for Reddit, Discord or X.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is completely free and has no sign-up. Teams are saved in your browser for each game and in the share link; nothing is uploaded.
