The 18 pairs and trios that pick each other most often in Champions VGC 2026 Reg M-C, calculated from Pokémon Showdown teammate data (2026-09, 1630+ rating). The percentage is the mutual teammate rate: the lowest share of one member's teams that also bring the other. Each core opens in the team builder with its most common sets.
Usage alone favours Pokémon that fit on any team. The mutual teammate rate shows which Pokémon are built around each other instead: weather setters with their abusers, Trick Room setters with slow attackers, and Fake Out or redirection support with the attackers they protect. Tags come from each member's common abilities and moves (rain from Drizzle, Trick Room from the move, and so on).
Every Pokémon links to its Champions set page with moves, items, natures and Stat Points. Once you have a core, fill the remaining slots in the team builder and check your Speed benchmarks on the speed tiers page.
FAQ
What are the best teams in Pokémon Champions right now?
In Reg M-C (2026-09) the tightest trio is Archaludon + Mega Golisopod + Pelipper: each of them appears on at least 37.2% of the others' teams. Other common cores are Rillaboom + Sneasler + Mega Salamence, Sneasler + Mega Salamence + Kingambit and Indeedee + Mega Tyranitar + Excadrill.
How are these cores calculated?
From the teammate data in the public Smogon usage statistics (1.63 million battles at 1630+ rating). For a pair A + B, the score is the lower of "B's share on A's teams" and "A's share on B's teams", so both Pokémon have to choose each other. A trio scores its weakest pair. Pokémon below 1% usage are left out, and no Pokémon is in more than three cores.
Which pairs are used together most?
Among pairs not already part of a trio above, Politoed + Mega Gengar is the strongest (41.7% mutual), followed by Indeedee-F + Mega Gardevoir (35.5%), Mega Raichu X + Espathra (35.2%) and Farigiraf + Mega Golisopod (31.7%).
How do I build a full team from a core?
Open the core in the Champions team builder: each Pokémon arrives with its most common set (moves, item, ability, nature and Stat Points). The builder then shows the team's shared weaknesses and suggests Pokémon that cover them, ranked with the same usage data.
