Pokémon Daily Team Challenge
Same 12 Pokémon for everyone. Pick the best 6, beat today's opponent, and see how your team ranks.
Play today's challengeHow your team is scored
1000 points in four parts. Every part is compared with all 924 teams you could have picked today, so “better than 80% of teams” is exact, not a guess.
🛡️ Defense300 pts
Your six should cover each other's weaknesses. For every attacking type we count how many of your Pokémon are weak to it versus how many resist it; stacked weaknesses and 4× weaknesses cost the most.
⚔️ Coverage250 pts
How many of the 18 types your team hits super-effectively with its own types (STAB). Six Pokémon that all hit the same things score low here.
🎯 Vs opponent300 pts
For each of the opponent's six: does someone on your team hit it super-effectively, and does someone resist every one of its types? Twelve checks in all.
💪 Base stats150 pts
The total base stats of your six. It is the smallest part on purpose — a balanced team beats six big numbers.
How to play
- Look at today's opponent and theme.
- Tap 6 of the 12 candidates. Think in pairs: who covers whose weakness?
- Press Lock in my team. That is your official score for the day.
- Share the result, check the best possible team, then use Practice to see what you missed.
- Come back tomorrow to keep your streak.
Tips for a high score
- Avoid shared weaknesses. Three Pokémon weak to Ground is the fastest way to lose defense points.
- Mix your types. Coverage counts types, not Pokémon — two Water types add less than one Water and one Electric.
- Plan one answer per opponent. Every opponent needs someone who hits it hard and someone who takes its hits.
- Don't chase base stats. They are only 150 of the 1000 points.

FAQ
What is the Pokémon Daily Challenge?
A daily team-building puzzle, like Wordle for Pokémon teams. Every day everyone gets the same 12 Pokémon to choose from and the same opponent team. Pick 6, lock them in, and your team gets a score out of 1000. A new challenge starts at midnight in your time zone.
How is my team scored?
Four parts: defense (300 points), type coverage (250), how well you answer the opponent (300) and base stats (150). Each part is scaled between the worst and the best of all 924 teams you could build that day, so the scores of different days mean the same thing.
What do the themes mean?
The challenge rotates through three themes. Gym: the opponent is six Pokémon of one type. Cup: all twelve candidates share a type, so you have to work around the weaknesses they share. Open Draft: twelve random Pokémon against a random rival.
Can I play more than once?
Your first locked-in team is your official score for the day and counts for your streak. After that — or before — Practice lets you try and score any six as often as you like; practice never counts.
How do I share my result?
Press Share result. You get a few lines of text with your score, your rank and four coloured bars (one per scoring part), like a Wordle grid — it never gives away which Pokémon you picked, so friends can still play.
Where are my streak and history saved?
In your browser on this device. Nothing to sign up for. Clearing your browser data resets them.
Which Pokémon can appear?
437 fully evolved, non-legendary Pokémon with base stat totals between 420 and 600, from every generation. Types and abilities follow the current games (Fairy type included).
