How the clues work
| Type 1 / Type 2 | Green if it matches that slot. Yellow if your Pokémon has the type but in the other slot (Dragon/Flying vs Flying/Dragon). Single-type Pokémon show None as Type 2. |
| Generation | Gen 1 (Kanto) to Gen 9 (Paldea). Yellow means one generation off; the arrow points to the answer. |
| Stage | Basic, Stage 1 or Stage 2 in its evolution line. Pokémon that don't evolve are Basic. |
| Color | The Pokédex color category (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Black, Brown, Purple, Gray, White, Pink). Exact match only. |
| Height / Weight | Yellow if within 20% of the answer. ▲ means the answer is taller or heavier, ▼ shorter or lighter. |

We tried every Pokémon as an opener against all 1025 possible answers and counted how many Pokémon still fit afterwards, on average. Lower is better — a random opener leaves far more.

Tips to solve Pokédle in fewer guesses
- Pin the generation first. Yellow on Gen means one off; with the arrow you usually know the generation by guess two or three.
- Use dual types to test two types at once. A Water/Flying guess checks both, and a yellow tile tells you the type is right but in the other slot.
- Height and weight narrow it fast. Big ▲ arrows on both mean a large Pokémon — think legendaries and final evolutions.
- Watch the “still fit” counter. When it drops under 10, the right answer is usually one of the obvious ones for that generation and type.

What is Pokédle?
Pokédle is a Wordle-style game where you guess a secret Pokémon. Every guess shows how close you are on type, generation, evolution stage, color, height and weight. This version on DexTeam has a new Pokémon every day at midnight UTC, picked from all 1025 species, plus an Unlimited mode you can replay as often as you like.
How do you play Pokédle?
Type any Pokémon and pick it from the list. Each clue tile turns green (exact), yellow (close) or red (wrong), and arrows tell you whether the answer is higher or lower for generation, height and weight. Use the counter under the box: it shows how many Pokémon still match every clue you have. Guess the Pokémon to win; there is no guess limit.
What is the best first guess in Pokédle?
By our calculation over all 1025 possible answers, Ambipom, Eelektrik, Floatzel are the best openers: on average they leave only about 11 Pokémon that still fit. They work because they are mid-generation, mid-size Pokémon with common types, so almost every clue splits the field.
Is there a Pokédle Unlimited mode?
Yes. Switch to Unlimited above the guess box for a random Pokémon every round. You can limit it to certain generations (for example only Gen 1) and give up to see the answer. Unlimited games don't affect your daily streak.

When does the daily Pokémon change?
At midnight UTC for everyone, so all players guess the same Pokémon on the same day. The countdown above the game shows how long is left.
Are there hints?
After 3 guesses you can reveal the first letter, and after 6 guesses the Pokémon's silhouette. The "still fit" counter is always on.
