Pokémon Counter Checker

Type any Pokémon below to see what it is weak to and which Pokémon counter it best. Each result lists 4× and 2× weaknesses, then counters that hit that weakness with a move they actually learn and resist the target's attacks. For example, Landorus is weak to Ice (4×) and Water, and Rotom-Wash is one of its best counters. It is free, needs no account and covers every game.

Pokémon counter checker FAQ

How do I find the best counter for a Pokémon?

Search the Pokémon above and open its page. You get its 4× and 2× weaknesses, then a list of counters that hit one of those weaknesses with a real move they learn and resist the target's own attacking types. Pick a counter that is faster or bulky enough to take one hit.

Is this Pokémon counter checker free?

Yes. Every counter page is free, has no sign-up and no ads wall. Everything runs in your browser.

What counters a Pokémon with a 4× weakness?

Any attack of that type deals four times damage, so even a weaker Pokémon with a same-type move of that type is usually a counter. The table below marks 4× weaknesses first for each popular Pokémon.

Does it work for Scarlet & Violet and Pokémon Champions?

Yes. Type matchups use the current (Gen 6+) chart, and counter moves come from Champions usage data where available, otherwise from Scarlet & Violet learnsets.

How is a counter different from a check?

A counter can switch into the Pokémon safely and beat it; a check only beats it when it comes in for free or moves first. Our list favours Pokémon that resist the target's attacking types, so most entries are true counters.

Type chart: Gen 6+. Counter moves from Pokémon Champions usage or Scarlet & Violet learnsets (Pokémon Showdown data). Unofficial fan site.
