FAQ
How many areas are in the Ruby & Sapphire Nuzlocke tracker?
66 areas with wild encounters, listed in order of encounter level so they roughly follow the story. Add gifts, static encounters or fishing spots yourself if your rules count them.
Which team builder settings does a Ruby & Sapphire run use?
Gen 3 — "Analyze party" opens your living Pokémon with the Gen 3 Pokédex and type chart (no Fairy type).
What is a Nuzlocke?
A self-imposed challenge: you may only catch the first Pokémon you meet in each new area, and any Pokémon that faints is considered dead and must be released or boxed forever. Most players also nickname every catch. If your whole party faints, the run is over.
What is the dupes clause?
If the first encounter in an area belongs to an evolution family you already caught, you may skip it and take the next new one. The tracker greys out dupes (it checks whole evolution lines, so Charmeleon counts as a Charmander dupe).
How do I track a Nuzlocke run here?
Pick your game and every area appears in order of encounter level with the Pokémon you can find there. Tap an area, tap the Pokémon you met, and mark it Party, Box, Failed or Dead. It takes a few seconds per encounter and saves automatically in your browser.
Can I back up or move my run?
Yes — export a JSON backup and import it on any device, or copy a share link that encodes the whole run so friends can follow along (they get a read-only copy they can save).
Can I check my Nuzlocke team's weaknesses?
Press "Analyze party" and your living party opens in the DexTeam team builder with the right generation's type chart, so you can see what your team is weak to before the next gym.
Does it work for ROM hacks like Radical Red or Renegade Platinum?
Start a custom run and add your own areas — any Pokémon from the National Dex can be logged. Pre-filled route tables currently cover the official Gen 1–7 games.
