Removes the target's Ground immunity. This move can hit a target using Bounce, Fly, or Sky Drop, or is under the effect of Sky Drop. If this move hits a target under the effect of Bounce, Fly, Magnet Rise, or Telekinesis, the effect ends. If the target is a Flying type that has not used Roost this turn or a Pokemon with the Levitate Ability, it loses its immunity to Ground-type attacks and the Arena Trap Ability as long as it remains active. During the effect, Magnet Rise fails for the target and Telekinesis fails against the target.

Smack Down FAQ

What does Smack Down do?

Smack Down is a Rock-type physical move with 50 power.

Which Pokémon can learn Smack Down?

170 Pokémon and forms can learn Smack Down in at least one game: 112 in Scarlet & Violet, 39 in Pokémon Champions and 0 in Legends: Z-A. Examples: Blastoise, Sandshrew, Sandslash, Nidoqueen, Nidoking and Diglett.

Is Smack Down in Pokémon Champions?

Yes — 39 Pokémon can use Smack Down in Pokémon Champions, with the same numbers as in Scarlet & Violet.

What is Smack Down super effective against?

As a Rock-type attack, Smack Down is super effective against Fire, Ice, Flying and Bug, not very effective against Fighting, Ground and Steel (unless its effect says otherwise).
